Content Is KING!
This weekend, I was staying at a hotel near downtown Portland and after a quick afternoon of thrifting and record store shopping, I decided to grab dinner in the hotel's restaurant. I looked up the menu ahead of time via the in-room directory and already made a decision as to what I wanted to order.
The bartender handed me a menu, and I told him that I'd researched the menu ahead of time on the website and knew what I wanted. His response was "Well, that's probably wrong." My external response was "Oh." but my internal response was "I sure hope none of our hotels are saying the same thing to their guests!"
That's why content auditing is one of my professional goals for 2024, and it should be yours too. (in-room directory, brand .com site, vanity site, loyalty app, social media bios, third-party booking sites, Linktree, wi-fi splash page, key packet inserts, sales collateral, and on and on and on...)
